I am pleased to announce a PhD position in the recently established Quantum Many-Body Theory and Simulation Group at the University of Trieste (Italy).
Our group explores emergent quantum phases in many-body systems such as gases and liquids. Our expertise includes theoretical and computational techniques tailored for many-body systems, such as: Gross-Pitaevskii equations, Variational methods and Quantum Monte Carlo techniques (along with machine learning techniques).
We focus on a variety of cutting-edge topics, including:
- Superfluidity and supersolidity in quantum mixtures.
- Ultracold atoms in optical lattices.
- Quantum simulation of continuous and lattice models.
- Quantum effects in 2D materials.
- Dipolar systems.
- Atom-ion mixtures.
Local Collaborations & Research Environment
Close collaboration are expected with our local colleagues Prof. Federico Becca and our experimental friends in the Ultracold Quantum Gas Laboratory led by Francesco Scazza. In addition, our group is part of one of Italy’s most interdisciplinary research hubs, fostering collaborations with leading institutions in Trieste. In particular, we work closely with Prof. Massimo Capone (SISSA) and Prof. Marcello Dalmonte (ICTP).
