The Brazilian Physical Society 2011 National Meeting (SBF 2011)
The Brazilian Physical Society’s 2011 National Meeting (Encontro de Física 2011) will be an unique opportunity for the Brazilian Physics community to get together and discuss the current national and international issues and problems in Physics and related disciplines, and to assess its members’ contributions and participation in, including but not limited to, funding and opportunities in research, education and innovation for top national and international students and postdocs.
This meeting is the main event on the Brazilian Physical Society’s (SBF) calendar and this year’s plan is to involve deeper associations and relationships with equivalent societies in other Latin and South American countries, that is, with chemical, physical, biomedical, biochemical, biophysical, and geophysical societies.
Common general physics sessions will be organized in all areas of physics in the morning, while traditional special topic meetings, such as National Meeting on Condensed Matter, Meeting on Particles and Fields, Workshop on Nuclear Physics, Brazilian Meeting on Plasmas Physics and Brazilian Meeting on Physics Teaching Research, will have their own specific programs, consisting of symposia and contributed papers for oral and poster presentation in the afternoon. The SBF is expecting a 1500 public.
Venue and Date The Brazilian Physics Meeting 2011 will take place in Foz do Iguaçu, state of Paraná, home of the famous Iguaçu Falls from June 5th to June 9th , 2011.

The Brazilian Physics Meeting attendees represent a large fraction of Brazilian physicists at decision-making level or sufficiently influential to help decision-making in different research groups, laboratories or institutions.
