The National Meeting on Condensed Matter Physics (ENFMC) of the Brazilian Physical Society is the largest Physics meeting in Brazil. In its first edition, in 1978, the Meeting had only 80 participants. Last year, the Meeting drew more than 1230 researchers, including graduate and undergraduate students and scientists from all regions of Brazil and abroad. Today, besides Condensed Matter, the Meeting includes the areas of Optics, Atomic and Molecular Physics, Statistical Physics, Biophysics and Medical Physics.
